The miscellaneous writings of Mark Bridgeman

As a theist, how do you react if your god told you to abandon your holy book?

I’d say it’s about time, I abandoned it long ago.

You see it’s obvious, nothing in nature is ‘bad.’ Human beings are a product of nature, and we have within us our rational faculties which arise from our nature, so to use them is to also ‘not bad.’

So in other words it’s ‘not bad,’ to think for yourself.

Also, our rational faculties will do a really good job of telling us what is ‘good,’ and how we can best serve our communities and live a life of virtue where our actions are good for ourselves and good for all. Virtue really is it’s own reward.

So just live for virtue.
